Joan, a 45 year old wife and mother of two children, was working the front desk in the emergency room at a small town hospital in rural Oklahoma when a deranged gunman walked in and shot her multiple times at point blank range, killing her. Her employer, the hospital, denied the claim and denied paying any benefits to her surviving husband and children, claiming that the incidnet was not a risk of her employment. Bill, a 35 year old oil field hand, fell on the oil rig and injured his back. Because he had previous injuries to his back, the insurance company refused to pay for his medical treatment or pay him temporary total disabilitly benefits while the doctors had him off work. The court found that Bill was entitled to supplemental beneffits while he was off of work and that he was entitled to medical care because the law recognizes that an individual can have preexisting conditions that are aggravated by a new injury which is fully compensable.

Shirley and Bob's car had broken down on Interstate 40 and they were forced to walk to the nearest gas station. While walking a good distance off the highway, an 18 wheeler came along and inexplicably veered to the right off the roadway, hitting Bob and killing him. We were able to prove that the tractor trailer operator was in violation of numerous DOT regulations and state laws and his insurance carrier agreed to settle the case quickly.

Nancy and her children were rearended by a motor vehicle. Nancy was injured and was taken to the hospital by ambulance. SHe was diagnosed with severe injuries but she was unable to obtain the necessary medical treatment as she had no health insurance and the liability insurance carrier for the motorist that hit her refused to pay for her treatment. Tracy was working in the customer service department of a major retailer when two armed men rushed in to rob her. Although she cooperated fully, one of the men shot her in the chest before they fled. Physicians were unable to remove the bullet for fear of complications and as a result, Tracy was overcome with depression and anxiety in addition to the physical injuries she suffered.
